March Profile: Katie Absalom
A keen horsewoman, Katie Absalom rather stumbled into the world of Fieldsports just shy of a decade ago, when she was employed by Dylan Williams, Founder of the renowned Royal Berkshire Shooting School, to head up events and marketing, both at the school’s base in Berkshire and across the UK.
Four years later, James Purdey & Sons purchased the business and Katie became involved with the wider company, organising events for Purdey and managing brand partnerships in addition to her previous role. On the weekend, Katie would sneak off to pursue her true passion, horses, dressage in particular, with some occasional dabbling in riding side saddle when feeling brave!
Nearly ten years, and over 2,000 shooting events later, Katie is well-known for delivering aspirational charity events across the UK and to date has helped charities such as Great Ormond Street Hospital, The Princes Trust and Starlight Children's Foundation to raise over £16 million.
Katie is fortunate to have collaborated with some of the most prestigious brands in the world, including Aston Martin, Boodles, Sunseeker and Jaguar Landrover and in late 2023, founded Wilde & Glorious, a boutique events, marketing and PR agency.
Wilde & Glorious is looking forward to a busy year ahead, with events taking place at venues such as Highclere Castle, Englefield House, Holland & Holland and Purdey at the Royal Berkshire. Katie is also the brains behind the highly anticipated Wilde & Glorious Ladies Cups, which bring together ladies of all shooting abilities and take place on Saturday 27th April at Purdey at the Royal Berkshire and Saturday 22nd June at Grimsthorpe Estate Shooting Ground.
Over the past few years, Katie has become passionate about shooting and conservation and works with some of the UKs largest conservation charities, still as much of a lover of the British Countryside as when she got her first pony aged seven.’
